My Recipe

How To Make The Best Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:
1 ½ Cups Self Raising Flour
3 T Cocoa
1 Cup Castor Sugar
1 Cup Water
1 t Vanilla Essence
1 T White Vinegar
½ Cup Vegetable Oil

Icing:
1 Cup Icing Sugar
1 T Cocoa
1 T Butter
1 T Boiled Water

Equipment:
Fan Bake Oven
20 cm Round Cake Tin
Sieve
Large Bowl
Whisk
Small Bowl
Pot/Jug


Method:
  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees on fan bake.
  2. Dust a 20 centimetre round cake tin with flour.
  3. Sift the flour, cocoa, and castor sugar into a large bowl.
  4. Add the water, vanilla essence, vinegar, and the oil. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into the tin, and bake for about 35-40 minutes.
  6. When the cake is ready, take it out of the oven and leave it to cool.
Icing:

  1. Add the icing sugar, cocoa, butter, and boiled water into a small bowl. Make sure that the water is still hot, as this is what will melt the butter.
  2. Stir until smooth.
  3. When the cake is cooled, ice it!
