Goal Reflection

I will have positive, supportive, inclusive relationships with ALL the people around me.

I think that I have really kept this goal in mind by letting other people who I don't usually hang out with hang with my friends and I. I still need to keep this goal in mind though.

Netball

On Saturday we played our second game of Netball against Waeranga 1. They beat us 21-4.  It was a very tough game!

Storytelling and Me

What do you enjoy about storytelling?
I enjoy the fact that storytelling can take you to other worlds. You  just carry on writing and you just feel in the zone, and you can’t stop.
What types of stories do you enjoy writing?
I love to write fictional or persuasive pieces of writing.
What types of stories are you good at writing/ need help with?
I am very good at writing persuasively. A persuasive piece of writing was the first piece of writing (that was more than one sentence) that I ever did. I would like some help with some more hooking types of writing.
Tell me about your best story ever.
My best story ever would be the story I wrote when I was seven. It was written from the perspective of a painting (the Mona Lisa). It featured the Mona Lisa being stolen, and how she was stolen, and then returned.
What would you like to learn about Storytelling?
I would like to know how to keep writing for a long time, because I am not very good at writing for very long.

Cuddly Toy Lost In Space

This is what I discovered:
A group of students are looking for a toy dog named Sam who was launched into space. Sam The Dog was attached to a balloon, along with a GPS tracker and a GoPro camera. His ascent was successful; he traveled 25km up, but soon his balloon popped, resulting in his landing 50km from the launching pad. The GPS and camera were found, but not the dog. Now the school has set up a campaign on Twitter to help find the dog. #FindSam !
My Opinion:
I think that this was a really cool experiment and I would like to do this someday!
Source:
I found this information on Kiwi Kids News.
My wondering:
I wonder if Sam will ever be found?
Words:
Campaign: a series of operations intended to achieve a goal, confined to a particular area, or involving a specified type of fighting
Descent: Going down
Ascent: Going up

Rad Rythym

We have been doing a project called Rad Rhythm. We learn the basics of music theory and we also have practical lessons where we actually DO the things we've learnt.

I already know very advanced music theory so during the theory lessons I don't really feel as if I am learning very much so I prefer the practical lessons.

During our lessons we have a video where a man named Jonny teaches us things. The whole lesson is a video, and if we ever actually have to do something well, noisy, then there will be a timer which allows us a certain amount of time to do a particular activity. The videos go for about 30 minutes, and are really detailed.

Rad Rhythm is a cool program, but I find it very simple when it comes to theory.

Netball

On Saturday I played my first netball game of the season. We had eight players so one person was off at a time.
We were placed in the top grade so we were against year eights. The team we were up against was Combined 1. We are Ngatea 2. It was a really tough game, and we lost 16-2. I am GS, and I scored all of our goals.
It was a tough game and I hope that next week it will be a lot easier!

To make my vision board first I needed to collect things from magazines, but I also bought things and printed things off. Once I had collected everything and made sure I had enough, I got my board and I painted it gold. Once the paint had dried, I re-arranged all my pieces and then glued them on.

The most challenging part about this was collecting things. Most of the magazines we had were Woman's Day so there wasn't very many things.
Here is a photo of my vision board:

Goal Reflection

This week's goal:
I can make positive choices that are right for my OWN learning.

Reflection:
I think I have done okay with achieving this goal. I have been trying my best to drive my learning by not sitting next to people I am likely to chat with. I want to always make the right choices to drive my learning. My learning smarts test says that I work best on my own. So this is a very important goal for me. I will try my best to keep this goal in my mind for the rest of the week.
When we sit on the mat I always make the best choices by not sitting next to my friends, so I won't be distracted.

Current Events

girls
This is what I discovered:
Swiss Photographer Tiziana Vergari decided to mess with people’s minds by posting this mind-blowing photograph on Instagram. The picture features a group of girls sitting next to a bunch of mirrors. This creates an optical illusion, making it hard to figure out how many girls there are in the picture. Some people think that there are identical twins involved, and others think there are 3 or 4 girls in the picture. In the comments, the photographer attempted to clear things up by saying she had two daughters.
My Opinion:
I think there are definitely two girls in this photo.
Source:
I found this information on Kiwi Kids News.
My Wondering:
Where are all the mirrors placed?
Answer:
It seems most people think there are three mirrors, one in the middle, and one on each side.
Words:
Illusion: An instance of a wrong or misinterpreted perception of a sensory experience.
Identical: Two things/people that look the same.
Photographer: Somebody who takes photographs.
