For And Against
Five Issues:
- Younger and older children should all learn in the same environment
- People should eat less
- Sports stars are paid far too much money
- Trees are too tall
- We shouldn’t have fences
Younger and older children should all learn in the same environment:
For:
- It would be better for children to be able to work with older, more experienced children so that younger children can not only learn from just the teacher, but from their peers also.
Against:
- Children should learn in age groups, so that way they can work with children their own age, and at their own understanding and pace, because they will all be on the same level.
People should eat less:
For:
- People should eat less because if they eat too much, they might get very fat, and they might not necessarily be eating the right things. If people eat less, then we know that no matter what, people won’t get fat.
Against:
- If people eat less, then they might get hungry. It’s unfair that people should have their diet controlled by others. If they want to eat less, then they can ask for help. But if they don’t want any help, then they should be able to be left alone.
Sport stars are paid far too much money:
For:
- Sport stars are paid far too much money. If anybody saw that mouth-watering salary, they would quit their current jobs and train to be a sports star. Anyone can do it if they train. But if everybody was a sports star, then we wouldn’t have people to do other things.
Against:
- We can’t change the salary for a sports star now, otherwise sports stars might quit, and then we won’t have anyone who wants to play sports for a living. Sports is hard work, and you don’t want to put in a whole lot of work just to be paid next to nothing!
Trees are too tall:
For:
- Trees are way too tall. If any of them fall down, it could really hurt, or kill someone. Trees should be regularly chopped at the top to prevent this from happening.
Against:
- Trees are landmarks, and if they aren’t tall, then how are people supposed to see them? Without our big, tall trees, children wouldn’t be able to climb them, and have the time of their lives.
We shouldn’t have fences:
For:
- People should not have fences. They are just a waste of resources, and what purpose do they have anyway? All they do is divide property. You don’t need to do that! If a kid accidentally kicks a ball into the neighbour’s property, they then have to climb over the fence, which is totally unnecessary.
Against:
- People need fences for privacy. Without fences, people can just look out their window, into your window! And climbing fences is something really fun that kids like to do.
