This year I have tried my best to make the most of my learning opportunities that I can. I really like the opportunity we have with our milestones, because it lets me learn further, and it means I never have nothing to do. I like having the opportunity to self-manage my learning, by not having set times for things. I like how we have the opportunity to go out for huff and puff and have brain breaks as we wish. It’s really cool the way that we can plan our own time and have as much time as we like for each task. I like our Mi Plans because we can copy off the timetable and have our own customized Mi Plan.
When we shared our individual endeavors I was really nervous. I spoke quietly, and I tried to get it over and done with a bit too quickly. It wasn’t the best performance, but I still used Resilience. My mum was really proud of my research, and I am too. When I did finally get really going in my create and share, I was really on a roll, and my video looked amazing. I was really proud of my efforts. I used a lot of Creativity during this process.
I think the hardest part for me was coming up with a topic I was truly interested in. The worst mistake I made during this project was when I was doing my research, instead of copy and pasting my findings, I wrote everything in my own words, so when it came to summarising, it was more about summarising my own summaries. When I completed this project, I was really excited about doing one again.
This term, we began our group endeavors. I am in the NZ Made clothing group. We are researching NZ Made clothing, and our driving question is “How can we support NZ made clothing?” We have been doing a lot of research, and I am really enjoying working in this group. We do our GE by the quote “What we learn with pleasure, we never forget”. Our GE is exactly like our IE, except we are in groups. We hav had to use a lot of Resilience so far in this process.
I love our set learning tasks because they are all fast to do, but still a challenge. I really like my blog, because that way my mum can see all my learning without having to ask me. My mum regularly reads my blog so I like to post a lot on it. AWS is also really cool. I like how we don’t have a set page, and how we can pace ourselves in our own time to do each page. We only have to get one page done a week, which means we can spend plenty of time on one page so we can get lots of questions correct.
I like the how we have Manga High and Duolingo to work on. Manga High is really cool because the teacher can easily set us tasks that challenge us. I also like how there is a class competition, so that way it makes me want to do more.
I have been using the Duolingo website for the past couple of years, so I liked it how I didn’t have to make a new account so I could join the school class. I like how learning a different language is required, so that way everybody can learn something new.
This year I am really proud of how I made it up to the fifth AWS book. I am also proud about how I was entered into Upstart for my story about the Pinnacles.
This year so far I have achieved two of my milestones. I have achieved my Languages milestone and the Be Published milestone. I am really proud of myself for this.
